HOA Beautification Director Kevin Dillard and SMU landscape excellence Richardson Environmental Program Recycling update: Wide-mouth plastic containers now accepted The City of Richardson recently found a market to recycle wide-mouth plastic containers such as butter and yogurt containers. Now all plastic containers with a recycle logo can be placed in the blue bag. Previously the wide-mouth containers were unable to be recycled because the recycling vendor did not have the proper sorting equipment and there was no after-market for these containers. Recycling is easy: Put everything in a single blue bag Recycling is easy in the City of Richardson! Simply purchase the blue bags at City Hall or the Huffhines Recreation Center. You may put ALL of your items into the blue bag for weekly collection. This means that plastic bottles, aluminum cans, and paper may be put into a single blue bag. Home Chemical Collection Do you have old paint, batteries, or motor oil at home? You may bring these and other household hazardous waste items to the Dallas Area Home Chemical Collection Center. Please bring proof of residency such as a current drivers license or Richardson utility bill.
