October 23: More details on Glenville and Duck Creek Trails and the "south" Yale and St Johns bridges

An email from David Morgan, Assistant City Manager, City of Richardson - October 23, 2009:

"The trail currently under construction will extend from Bowser at the electric easement just
south of Spring Valley Road to the Duck Creek Trail. The construction is currently focused
around the schools the trail crosses and the facilities at Huffhines Park. The trail is
scheduled to be complete in Spring 2010.

The bridges at St. Johns and Yale will be redone as part of the Neighborhood Vitality Program
and the trail will be oriented on the north side of these crossings. There will be connection
to the new Recreation Center as well.

We know the trail project has taken time to get off the ground. The two biggest factors have
been the delay to sell bonds for the project due to the economic downturn in 2001 and 2002, and
the time it took to leverage our dollars to get a $1.3 million grant from Dallas County to expand
    the trail.

The good news is that construction is underway and will be complete over the next few months."

    Thank you David!
